Description
An IoT system and mobile app that tracks water quality.
Context
Naqaa is an IoT powered Water Quality Monitoring System coupled with a Mobile App. It tracks vital water parameters, empowering users to tackle scarcity, pollution, and conservation effectively. Its name means “purity” in Arabic.

Problem
Libya is struggling with water scarcity, pollution concerns, and various water security challenges. These problems demand immediate attention.
Libya's arid climate and limited water sources have created a critical scarcity situation.
Contaminated water sources pose severe health risks, contributing to the spread of waterborne diseases.
Libya lacks a comprehensive water quality monitoring system that can provide real-time data on water parameters.

Process
The success of any system development hinges on a clear understanding of user needs and system requirements.
Surveys and user interviews uncovered patterns, common needs, and differences between user groups.
Observing existing systems, in the field and in research laboratories, showed their challenges, limitations, and areas of improvement.
An information architecture gave the app logical structures that simplify navigation.
Solution
An IoT-based system collects and monitors water data continuously. The mobile app provides real-time access to it and presents it through easy-to-understand graphs and charts.
Personalized alerts notify users about their water sources' quality deviations, and a UI kit keeps style and interaction uniform across the app.

Outcome
The project was submitted to the Department of Mobile Computing, University of Tripoli, as partial fulfillment for the Degree of B.Sc. in Information Technology.
It received a mark of 96%, making it the second highest-rated project in the history of the Faculty of Information Technology.
