Description
A school app that keeps parents close to their child's day.
Context
ESEMS is a study and examination management system for schools. The parents app puts a child's school life in one place, like attendance, assignments, exams, results, fees, news and messages with teachers. Parents with more than one child can switch between them.

Problem
The idea behind the app is that parents know exactly how their child is doing at school, without calling the school or waiting for the next meeting. ESEMS already holds attendance, assignments, schedules, results and fees, so the app puts all of it in parents' hands.

Process
The work started from a list of what parents need on each part of the app, then every part was designed with its full, empty and in-between states.
A content list for each part, from the home screen to settings.
Screens for each part, with their filters and details.
Empty states, like no assignments yet, and the date results come out.
Solution
The home screen answers the daily questions first: is my child at school today, when is the next holiday, and when is the next payment. From there, parents reach assignments, schedules, results and news in one tap.
Attendance shows a monthly chart and a calendar, and tapping an absent day shows the reason. Results show every grade, term and average, with each subject's teacher.

Key Insights
Each screen answers one question first and keeps the detail one tap away. Empty states got the same care as full ones: a parent checking results before they are out sees when they will be.
